SPRING 2010

FIRST DAY OF THE SEMESTER - Monday February 1, 2010

Day class meets Mondays and Wednesdays 1110-1500
Evening class meets Mondays and Wednesdays 1800-2200

Posted 6/10/09 - We are expecting a record number of petitioners.  Please do not bother to petition if you do not possess and bring your current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR card with you the first day.  Begin preparing for the next EMT course if you do not have your Healthcare Provider Card.

To get an early start on preparation for the required clinical physical exam requirements you may want to assure that you have a copy of your immunization record that reflects 2 MMR vaccinations, and a TB skin test done within 6 months of the start of the class.  If you cannot find your immunization record, you may want to first get your TB skin test done and read, then get your MMR vaccination  or have blood tests completed to verify you have immunity titers to the described viruses.  Beginning the Fall of 2008, in accordance with the Orange County Long Beach Nursing Consortium Guidelines you MUST have a positive Varicella Titer - proof of history or vaccinations will no longer be accepted.  If you have not started the Hepattis B Vaccination series, you may also want to begin this (it takes 6 months to complete).  Some of these items can be done at the student health center, while others, such as vaccinations cannot.  It is highly recommended that you have a current flu vaccination and receive the H1N1 vaccination.

If you are a returning student from the spring semester, you will only need to purchase new liability insurance - your physical exam, if it was complete, your background, and uniform are all still valid through this semester.

The professor's and program director's office hours will be:
Tuesdays: 1400-1600, Wednesdays 1700-1800, and Thursdays will have a virtual office hours yet to be determined

The Spring 2010 classes are full - please keep checking online for student drops.
